5 Adorable Fun Facts About My Two-Year-Old Daughter

My baby girl

As a mom, watching my two-year-old daughter grow and develop her personality is an incredible journey. In this post, I'll share 5 fun facts about my little baby girl. She has grown so much on me that sometimes I worry if I can catch up but I feel so blessed to have her in my life. She has brought so much sunshine and happiness into my life & I don't think I would have had it in any other way. I know I'm getting so emotional but hey, I'm that kinda Mum..(did you just say "awww", yeah you did..lol)Okay, let me not get you distracted, let's get into the fun part!

Celebrating Teniola’s Terrific Twos

Remember when my baby girl turned two, and I wrote this lovely poem for her here? Yes, the twos are amazing—but let’s be real, they’re not always easy! Some days are tough, but the best days make up for all the “not-so-good” ones. Kids grow so fast. One moment they’re babies, the next they’re chatting away. Deep sigh.

That being said, here are my top 5 fun facts about my baby girl

#1: Daddy's Little Girl
The truth is I used to think "father-daughter" bond memes were exaggerations—until I saw it firsthand! The connection is surreal (No, I'm not jealous, you are)One of the many things that my daughter does for her dad is that she will ALWAYS go to the front of the door when we come back from work/daycare and ask me "Where is Dad'?. I mean she is only 2 years old and the fact that she already has that sense of being responsible for another person just melts my heart. When her Daddy finally opens the door, her face lights up and she jumps and shouts "My daddy, my daddy!". It's just so cute to watch this every freaking day😍. She does that for me too "sometimes" (yeah, I just had to. I mean somebody gets this every freaking day😜) but I'm always home before her dad anyways so I never get to experience this as much as her Dad does (just trying to console myself though)

Daddy-Daughter bonding time
Best Friends😍
Fun Fact: When we first got married, my husband would say, “Babe, you never come to the door to greet me with a hug!” Well, now our daughter has that covered—she does it even better! And no, I’m not jealous...at all! 😜

Another Fun Fact: Teni’s Special Daddy Hug: On those rare days when Teni doesn’t jump up to hug her dad when he comes home, it secretly breaks his heart! 😂 You’ll hear him say, “O tie wa hug me leni” (you didn’t hug me today). Their bond is so sweet to watch, and no, I’m not jealous! 😝

I mean just look at these two😂 (no DNA test required)

#2: Shy like Mama
Most of my friends do not believe that I am a shy person (or maybe I've outgrown it a bit now). I "think" my daughter has taken after me! We have this in-house joke about me being a "loudspeaker" at home but "Bluetooth" outside. If you meet my daughter and she’s quiet, just know that she’s “Bluetooth” outside and “loudspeaker” at home—just like Mama (for now 😜)

#3:Bedtime Story Lover
My daughter loves her bedtime stories time! She will literally go pick a book from the shelf. pull our heads away from the TV, and insist on reading—not just one, but sometimes four or five! 😅. Well, I love that she loves to read and also, listens to us while we read to her. I hope she doesn't outgrow this because "readers are leaders". That part, where she pulls our heads away from the TV is always so funny to me. In her voice "Mummy look, take, read"...That is the cutest thing ever😍

#4: Selective Eater (sometimes)
Though not lactose intolerant, my daughter avoids milk and sugary snacks. Instead, she loves cucumbers (k-ku-ba in her voice 😂), prawns (pluns 😂), spaghetti, any kind of soup, and recently chicken. Surprisingly, she dislikes cake, fried plantain (who doesn't like plantain), and even rice (like really, Teni, no rice)! Most of my friends said she will change as she grows and I believe them; considering our food journey so far, I couldn’t be prouder of us. 😍

#5: Finally, Teni says the Darndest Things: Remember the show Kids Say the Darndest Things? Well,  I have my own little show at home right now. Recently we scolded her for being naughty. Guess what she told us? "Don't, that's not funny". What!!! Excuse me? Is this not the "not-so-little-girl" I popped out just yesterday😂? I don't even know where she learned that from, but I'm guessing it must have been from school. She also loves saying, “This is so cute, I love it” (OMG😍, I mean she is only 2). She also says "Thank you, Mummy, "I love you"...All these words make my day. That little girl completes my world.

How cute is that smile

Kids truly are a blessing, and I cherish every single moment with my little one. They grow up so fast—remember to savor every moment, even the not-so-good days. Watching Teni grow has been surreal, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Thank you for joining us in our little corner! My daughter and I hope to see you back here soon. 💋
