It's Thanksgiving day here in Canada🥳
(whoop whoop💃). Canadian Thanksgiving celebrated on the second Monday of October, is a special holiday dedicated to giving thanks for the year’s harvest and blessings. This tradition has been part of Canadian life since 1879
(shoutout to Wikipedia for that fact!).
Reflecting on the “harvest” and blessings of this past year, I’m excited to share my top 5 things I’m most thankful for. Thanksgiving always makes me pause to look back, count my blessings, and embrace the spirit of gratitude. A day is not even enough to pen down what my heart is thankful for but I'm grateful to be part of #2019CanadaThanksgiving
What then am I thankful for?
1. My Daughter (Omoteniola Grace) 👧🏽
Top of my list is my sweet Teni. Watching her grow over the past year has been a true blessing. She’s talking, communicating more, and even has a few “fun facts” up her sleeve (stay tuned for those!). I couldn’t be prouder or more grateful for the joy of motherhood—she truly lights up my life.

2. My Darling Husband 💕
Next is my incredible husband—my best friend, mentor, and forever love. I’m a proud “lover girl” and blessed to have him by my side through everything. You think I'm obsessed with my daughter, well I'm double-obsessed with this one (if that word exists. If it doesn't, congratulations, you just learned a new word on my blog..buhaha😂)

3. Failures and Challenges 💪🏾
Challenges are part of life and we cannot escape them. After all, that is what makes us better and stronger in life. Recently one of my friends told me she feels I am ALWAYS happy. Yes, I am ALWAYS happy, to be honest, and you can barely see me at my lowest point BUT I do have my regrets, I do have my failures and this year hasn't been an exemption. Some of "our" plans didn't work out as expected. There were some decisions that we went back & forth on and they never happened. There were some not-so-happy days but c'mon, I am still super thankful for all of them. This is my life & my story and I will always embrace my challenges. If I don't embrace them, who will
4. Personal Growth 🌱
Reflecting on last Thanksgiving, I see so much growth. Whether it’s been in my career, personal life, or health, I’m grateful for how far I’ve come. Canada has introduced me to wonderful people, opportunities, and a new community—each one contributing to this journey. It's been an amazing passing year, to be honest.

5. Peace and Laughter 🌸
This year, I prioritized peace and laughter. From laughing at memes to keeping a lighthearted approach to life, this peace has been my secret sauce for happiness. It’s the little things, like applying coconut oil on your face before bed (try this and thank me later, buhaha I know I play too much🙈), that keep me grounded and grateful. Yeah, but jokes apart, this has been my top secret for 2019 and I love how my year turned out
Our Thanksgiving Menu & Family Time 🥘👨👩👧👦
Yesterday was all about family time. My sister’s family joined us, and we enjoyed different delicacies from steamed white rice with veggies to smoked turkey in tomato sauce, fried beef, stir-fried chicken sauce, and moinmoin. The smoked turkey was a bang! For dessert, we had watermelon, chinchin, and ice cream—just the perfect way to end a perfect meal if I do say so myself. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the food (very unlike me right? I'm still💔 but that's fine). Lest I forget, we all watched a movie together titled "king of boys" (a 3-hour-long Nigerian movie. That was a really long movie and definitely not my best) while the girls had fun playing with each other.

Cousin Love😍 |
Btw, Teni brought home this cute Thanksgiving Turkey from school! I didn't really understand the concept at first glance until I saw a similar one from a friend. Nevertheless, she still shared her turkey with me and I'm sharing it with y'all

Enjoy the Turkey😂 |
Reflections 💬
Thanksgiving is about embracing gratitude, celebrating loved ones, and finding joy in the simplest things. I hope you’re taking a moment to reflect on what you’re thankful for, too! Being alive, healthy, and surrounded by love is worth every celebration. Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours, and here’s to making more memories together!
Yeah, that is it from me today. Looking forward to wrapping up the end of the year in style. I hope you share a part of being thankful today wherever you are. Bye.....💋
