There is this popular proverb that says that "time doth flies fast". Yeah, that is my current mood right now. It feels surreal and unbelievable that I have a 3-year old, I mean where did all the time go? Words fail me but i'm eternally grateful for this little blessing of mine. It's been a journey. We have cried together, we have danced together, we have celebrated a lot of milestones together, we have had a couple of fights and arguments aswell together, which makes this whole journey complete. My heart is full to the brim today and i'm so grateful to God for blessing me with this sweet little girl❤️
How times flies. #Memories that make me smile❤️ |
This year has been a lil' bit tough with the pandemic (COVID-19) coupled with so many deaths and sad stories that we wake up to almost everyday. Let me also add that us having to become teachers and babysitters overnight for over 4 months unexpectedly wasn't the easiest thing to do while doing our regular job & still living life but my daughter has always been very understanding and yes, I was blessed with one of the sweetest and best babies in the world. I also need to add that, she is not perfect, let's not even start to talk about the tantrums and the numerous "no's" she tells me daily but hey, all those things are just like icing to the cake and I strongly believe that this whole motherhood journey wasn't meant to be perfect in the first place, so i'm not even complaining at all.
That being said, today, I will be sharing 3 things that I love about my 3 year old as she clocks 3 (did anyone see what i'm trying to do there 😝?). Anyhoo, let's get right into it
My super duper baby girl❤️ |
1. She is so loving - My Teni's heart is so pure and beautiful. She forgives quickly and also gives the biggest and best hugs. There are some cute things that she does that just melts my heart. For example, on those days when she is in "her element" and we tell her "no, Teni we don't like that", my daughter will come back to ask us questions like "Mummy are you angry?, Daddy, are you happy?, i'm sorry", that melts our heart. Let me also say that she gives the sweetest hugs to her Dad everyday and tells him "Daddy, I love you". OMG, Teni😭...❤️ (Apparently a #DaddysGirl). I pray she doesn't outgrow this sweetness🙈 but even if she does, I have totally enjoyed & experienced love in a totally different way from my best girl. We have this inside joke that Teni is the one that will finish our money😂. Of course, there are some days that she activates her "baby mood" and still wants to cuddle and sit on our laps but hey my baby girl's heart is so pure and I have definitely received unconditional love from her while I am also learning to love more everyday. No wonder the bible says "suffer the little children to come unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of God" (No, don't say preach it Pastor Wems, I already see some of my cheezy friends saying that😜)
2. I super duper love how observant and curious she is - My daughter watches us a lot, pays attention to what we do and also copies some of the things we do or say. For example, if you ask her sometimes to tell you her Daddy's name, she is going to say "Babe" and for her Mummy, she is going to say "Wems"😂. We recently changed her Daycare to a new location and we are always anxious to know how she is relating to her friends and peers and what areas we need to work on. I wasn't surprised when her teacher mentioned that they didn't expect she could be so expressive and vocal for her age. Teni is the boss in our house and police too😂 . She reports everything & says just everything. We have realized that her curious little mind is a lil bit extra so we always caution her when we need to and also act right because this lil miss sassy will definitely judge you if you don't practice what you preach😁
3. How about getting excited about the little things? - My daughter gets excited about getting a new toy or meeting new friends at the park or going on a playdate even though they will still end up fighting and not sharing their toys & bubbles #InsideToddlerLife😂. When we go for play dates and come back home, she always talks about what happened there for the next couple of days and the next time she will see her friends. She also gets excited about getting ice cream, getting a new dress or even just serving her, her favourite meal. This little girl constantly melts my heart and also reminds me that it is the little things that matter the most.
I'm definitely one of the proudest and happiest Mums alive today and I wish my daughter the best years ahead. So, let's get into the wishes💃. This year my wish list is longer than the previous ones (checkout my wish list here & here for her 1st and 2nd year birthday). My first wishlist for this year will definitely be for her to be eating more (we are struggling with this a lot, she has improved but I want her to eat more), I also want her to learn to share more with her friends (let's just say that this is one of the perks of being the only child, but hey we have to work on that girl). We have definitely gone a LONG way with her hair and i'm so damn proud of myself but yes, we still need more hair, so that Mummy can get creative and style this hair the way she wants (I have a whole pinterest folder waiting for this hair growth🤣🙈 Don't judge me please😝)
We are definitely not perfect parents but I know for sure that we have been trying our best to be present parents to our lil' girl. Our aim has always been to train her to become a strong, confident and intelligent girl who will be ready to take over her world when it is time. It's not easy to train a child in a different environment or different way from how you were brought up but having an open mind, asking questions, reading and armouring yourself with the right information will definitely help. We are a work in progress and I have learnt a lot within these first three years. I am definitely ready and looking forward to the fourth year💃. Btw, I made this video of some of the sweet memories that we have had with her since her birth and uploaded it here (trying to dust the cobweb on that space😂🤦♀️). Enjoy!!!❤️
Is it weird that it feels like my birthday too? This image that I saw on Instagram definitely captures my mood. I will be in my best mood today celebrating my best girl. This will be all for me today. Kindly say a lil prayer for my little girl as she clocks 3 today🎂. Thank you as always for stopping by. Until next time...💋
