Three-licious Memories: Celebrating Teni at 3

There’s a saying that “time flies” and honestly, I’m feeling that so deeply right now. How do I already have a 3-year-old? Where did all the time go? 😭 It feels like just yesterday that I was holding my tiny newborn, and now, I have a whole toddler with a big personality, lots of sass, and the sweetest heart.

My heart is so full today. It’s been a journey. We’ve laughed, cried, hit so many milestones, and we’ve also had our share of toddler battles (because let’s be real, life with a 3-year-old isn’t always a walk in the park 😆). But through it all, I’m just so grateful for this little blessing of mine ❤️

How time flies. #Memories that make me smile❤️
This past year has been a lot. Between navigating the ups and downs of parenting and everything happening in the world, I won’t lie, it’s been challenging at times. Balancing work, life, and suddenly becoming an at-home teacher and babysitter overnight (thanks to COVID-19) wasn’t easy. But one thing that has remained constant? Teni’s big heart and her ability to bring so much joy into our lives. Is she perfect? Nope. Let's not even start to talk about the tantrums and the numerous "no's" she tells me daily, but hey, all those things are just like icing to the cake and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 💕

That being said, today, I will be sharing 3 things that I love about my 3 year old as she clocks 3 (did anyone see what I'm trying to do there 😝?). Let's get right into it

My super duper baby girl❤️

1️⃣ Her Heart is Pure Gold

Teni’s heart is so big and so pure. She forgives quickly, gives the biggest and best hugs, and genuinely cares about people in a way that melts my heart. 🥹

One of my favourite things? On days when she’s in her full toddler mode, and we tell her, Teni, we don’t like that, she will come back a few minutes later, look at us with her cute eyes, and ask, “Mummy, are you angry? Daddy, are you happy? I’m sorry.” 😭❤️ oh my heart!

And let’s not forget the daily “Daddy, I love you” moments that make her a certified Daddy’s Girl. 🥰 I pray she never outgrows this sweetness, but even if she does, I’m soaking it all in while I can.

How cute is Teni's pose here? Oh my Teni😍

2️⃣ She’s Super Observant & Curious

This little girl notices EVERYTHING. She watches us closely, remembers things we don’t expect her to, and even mimics how we talk.

For example, if you ask her what her Daddy’s name is, she will confidently say “Babe” 😂 and for me? “Wems”. I mean, fair enough—we call each other that all the time, so she just followed suit.

At her new daycare, we were curious to see how she’d adjust, and let’s just say… they quickly found out she’s a boss babe in training. 😆 Her teacher even mentioned that she’s so expressive for her age and has no problem making her opinions known. Yep, that’s my girl.

Also, she reports EVERYTHING. If something happens, trust Teni to give a full breakdown with details, we might as well call her the CEO of “Tell It Like It Is” Inc. 😂

3️⃣ She Finds Joy in the Little Things

One thing I absolutely adore? How excited she gets over the simplest things.

A new toy? Excited.
A new dress? Excited.
Going to the park? Excited.
Ice cream? Excited.

Even playdates, where she sometimes fights with her friends over toys and bubbles, still make her so happy. And when we get home? She will talk about it for days until the next time she sees them.

This little girl is a daily reminder to appreciate the little things in life. 💛

I'm definitely one of the proudest and happiest Mums alive today and I wish my daughter the best years ahead.

I can’t let today pass without a wishlist for my now big girl!

More food, please! – We are working on this one 😆 She has improved, but we’re still on the “eat more” journey.
Learning to share more – An only child (for now), so sharing is still a work in progress!
More hair growth – Yes, I said it! I have Pinterest boards waiting for the day we can try more styles. Don’t judge me! 🤣

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Teni's Mum😍. I'm getting better at my cornrows #WhoopWhoop

We are not perfect parents, but we show up every day, love her fiercely, and do our best to guide her into becoming a confident, kind, and intelligent little girl. Parenting in a different country and culture than I grew up in has been a learning curve, but I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.

To my sweet Omoteniola, as you step into this new year, my prayer is that you continue to grow in wisdom, happiness, and love. We love you more than words can express!

I am definitely ready and looking forward to the fourth year💃. Btw, I made this video of some of the sweet memories that we have had with her since her birth and uploaded it here (trying to dust the cobweb on that space😂🤦‍♀️). Enjoy!!!❤️

Lowkey, it feels like my birthday too! This image that I saw on Instagram definitely captures my mood. I will be in my best mood today celebrating my best girl. So yes, I'm going to be in celebration mood all day! Kindly say a little prayer for my best girl as she clocks 3 today. 🎂 Thank you, as always, for stopping by my little corner of the internet. Until next time...💋

Safe to say it's my birthday too💃
