Throwback to ZooLights 2019: Teni’s First Christmas Lights at Calgary Zoo

There’s something magical about Christmas lights, especially when you’re sharing it with your little one. Back in 2019, when it was just Teni, we decided to visit ZooLights at the Calgary Zoo with our friends to kick off the holiday season. It was Teni’s first Christmas lights experience! From the twinkling displays to the cozy firepits. ZooLights truly captured the magic of the season.

Our ZooLights Adventure

Reflecting on that night in 2019, I can still remember the thrill of stepping into the zoo and seeing it completely transformed by the lights. It felt like a winter wonderland! The pathways were lined with colorful displays, lights sparkled everywhere, and it was incredible to see the zoo take on such a magical, festive atmosphere. I’m all about Christmas, and this was my first ZooLights experience too, so I was beyond excited and ready to soak in every moment as much as time and weather permitted.

Family-Friendly Highlights from 2019 🎅

  • Meeting Santa: No holiday outing is complete without a visit to Santa! Glad we were able to capture the moment

  • Photo-Worthy Moments: The highlight for me was definitely all the beautiful picture-perfect spots. I took lots of pictures that I still love till date.

  • Warm Fire Pit Breaks: It was a chilly night, and while the fire pits were cozy, the cold did make things a bit challenging! Thankfully, those fire pits came in handy and were also very useful for break spots along the way.

Looking back, the photo-worthy spots around the zoo were definitely my favourite part. I took so many pictures that I still cherish today! The chilly weather made things a bit challenging, but those cozy fire pits were absolute lifesavers, giving us a chance to warm up, take breaks, and soak in the festive vibe.

Thinking About Revisiting ZooLights This Year? 🎅
As I write this, I’m considering whether we’ll make it back to ZooLights this season. It’s been a few years since our last visit and Tade has never experienced Zoolight. I’m sure there are new displays and surprises to look forward to since our last visit which has been a while.

Final Thoughts
ZooLights at the Calgary Zoo was one of my favorite holiday memories from Christmas 2019, and I can’t wait to make more of these moments whenever we go back.
