Reflecting on that night in 2019, I can still remember the thrill of stepping into the zoo and seeing it completely transformed by the lights. It felt like a winter wonderland! The pathways were lined with colorful displays, lights sparkled everywhere, and it was incredible to see the zoo take on such a magical, festive atmosphere. I’m all about Christmas, and this was my first ZooLights experience too, so I was beyond excited and ready to soak in every moment as much as time and weather permitted.
Family-Friendly Highlights from 2019 🎅
Meeting Santa: No holiday outing is complete without a visit to Santa! Glad we were able to capture the moment
Photo-Worthy Moments: The highlight for me was definitely all the beautiful picture-perfect spots. I took lots of pictures that I still love till date.
Warm Fire Pit Breaks: It was a chilly night, and while the fire pits were cozy, the cold did make things a bit challenging! Thankfully, those fire pits came in handy and were also very useful for break spots along the way.
- Dress Warmly: Calgary winters can be chilly, so layer up to stay comfortable, especially if you plan to take lots of pictures!
- Take Advantage of Fire Pits: These cozy spots are perfect for warming up, taking a break, and enjoying some hot chocolate.
- Capture the Moments: With so many beautiful, photo-worthy spots, make sure your phone or camera is ready to capture all the festive memories!
- ZooLights is a wonderful seasonal event, but the Calgary Zoo has so much to offer for families all year round. Check out my guide on things to do with kids at the zoo to plan your next visit!
Until then, I hope this throwback inspires you to make the most of this holiday season and explore all the festive fun Calgary has to offer! 🎄
